Up and coming driver still on the hunt for sponsorship for 2012
Matt Poole, an aspiring race car driver from Kannapolis, NC, is still on the hunt for sponsorship for 2012. Despite recent struggles with sponsorship, Matt is more determined than ever to make his racing dreams a reality. Matt’s drive and determination, and his “never give up” attitude, is fueled by tragedy. His goal is to honor the memory of two of his dearest friends, his mother, Peggy Poole, who passed away in 2003 from a heart attack, and his friend Tonya Shultz, who was murdered by her husband in 2005. Matt has dedicated his future race winnings to be donated to the Victory Junction Gang Camp and the American Heart Association in memory of his Mother, and Tonya.
Matt started out behind the wheel of a race car at SpeedTech Racing School, owned by Randy Baker, who is the son of legendary NASCAR driver Buck Baker. His first laps were at Rockingham Speedway in Rockingham, NC. Matt showed talent behind the wheel, and he progressed to testing numerous types of race cars, including Camping World Trucks, ARCA Cars, Late Models, and Street Stocks. Matt’s first races were in the Street Stock Series at “The Birthplace of the NASCAR Stars”, the famed Hickory Motor Speedway in Hickory, NC, posting finishes of 12th and 7th in his debut behind the wheel. Matt currently works as an instructor at Richard Petty Driving Experience in Concord, NC.
Now that Matt has proven his ability, he also has the support of an established team, and sponsorship is the only hurdle to overcome in pursuit of making his racing dreams a reality. KC Motorsports, owned by Kevin Campbell, looks to hone and develop Matt’s skills behind the wheel and KC Motorsports is offering a variety of attractive packages to potential marketing partners.
